Only the DuraFon PRO system supports the TAP protocol, but may need a firmware upgrade.

The TAP feature enables users to send text messages to system handsets using Telelocator Alphanumeric Protocol (TAP) signaling. With the ability to send text messages to one or all of an organization’s DuraFon PRO handsets via TAP-enabled systems such as nurse call systems or by using EnGenius’ PC-based application, users can increase organizational efficiency, improve operations and even enhance safety procedures.
