What does WIDS and WIPS mean?
Updated over a week ago

WIDS means wireless intrusion and detection system, and WIPS means wireless intrusion and protection system. The WIDS/WIPS AP detects all access points and client devices on a network. It then places each device into categories such as rogue, suspected rogue, neighbor, valid, interfering, and manually contained. The system can then allow a number of manual or automatic actions to be taken accordingly in response to the type of connected device. For example, all rogue devices can be automatically disconnected from a network. All suspected rogues and other devices can be "contained" and dealt with according to system admin specifications.
